The autobiography of Malcolm X was probably the first book I read without a teacher coercing me to It tells the transformation of Malcolm Little into a street hustler who goes to prison but then ultimately is reformed by the Nation of Islam and becomes Malcolm X the black nationalist I think this book should be read by anyone who is in search of themselves because Malcolm s story is a search for his own identity and heritage When I read X it changed my life because like many black people I didn t know who I was and even though society was telling me who I was suppose to be I didn t necessarily identify with that I give the autobiography of Malcolm X five stars

This is a book everyone should read It s a book you can t seem to put down There is a part of this book that i love I read aimlessly until I learned to read selectively with a purpose This book changed the way i viewed certain things in life
