Cracking the AP English Language Composition Exam 2010 Edition College Test Preparation
>> Perfect
It s as great as the rest of the Princeton Review books with their attractive girls smiling in the front cover
>> Skewed but readable
I purchased this book received it and found that the printing is shifted outward So now instead of the lines of the paragraphs being vertically straight they slant slightly

Barron s AP U S Government and Politics
>> Used copy of Barron s AP Govt
This book will help my son prepare for tests throughout the year in additon to the AP test Book arrived on time and in the condition
stated Thank you
>> Way too long
This book has too much useless information and even some wrong facts It is not a good review because it is not organized to be read fast The author gets into too much theory etc which goes beyond the AP test
>> a pretty thorough review for the AP exam
although this book was meant to be read along with a textbook throughout the school year i had not bought it until a few weeks before the actual exam It helped a lot and covered all the subjects very well The only thing is that the chapters are extremely long and provide more examples than necessary The questions are definitely a lot harder than whats on the exam so if you pass the practice tests you re sure to score well on the AP exam

East of Eden Sparknotes Study Guide
>> Simply the best book I have ever read
Simply the best book I have ever read Effortless prose with such depth you do not want it to end
>> Great Novel Steinbeck said It has everything in it I have been able to learn about my craft or profession 72 63
Biblical accounts abound in this John Steinbeck novel revolving around the turn of the century Californians on a tale loosely based upon relatives or neighbors of the relatives of the author s heritage
East of Eden is the quite simply where Cain of Cain and Abel fame was exiled The two stories within this tome are of Adam and Charles Trask and the sons of Adam Caleb and Aaron whose names mirror alphabetically Cain and Abel a theme for both the stories of Adam and Charles note the initials and the sons of Adam
Within the confines of the novel are great parables and stories of the pilgrimages of persons who made the America of today so great But the personalities include evil including the mother of Caleb and Aaron Aron Cathy later requesting to be called Kate She is quite simply stealth I believe there are monsters born in the world to human parents Steinbeck writes in the novel Some you can see misshapen and horrible with huge heads or tiny bodies some are born with no arms no legs some with three arms some with tails or mouths in odd places And just as there are physical monsters can there not be mental or psychic monsters born The face and body may be perfect but if a twisted gene or malformed egg can produce physical monsters may not the same process produce a malformed soul
This monster belies all human nature when she gives birth to Caleb and Aaron and on same date abandons them She leaves them to do what she does best be a woman of ill repute and ridicule men at her trade She combines the brains of a businessman the toughness of a prize fighter the warmth of a companion the humor of a tragedian Myths collect around her
Amid this novel of human weakness exists strong literature Samuel Hamilton rode back home in a night so flooded with moonlight that the hills took on the quality of the white and dusty moon The trees and earth were moon dry silent and airless and dead The shadows were black without shading and the open places white without color
And amid this novel arises a person or two of great character The first is Samuel Hamilton believed to be based upon the grandfather of the author Secondly is the protagonist Adam Trask And lastly is my favorite Lee a China man who aids Adam in raising the twins when his monstrous wife leaves them to raise the two infants He is more than just a helper He is a philosopher a topic to be discussed more thoroughly later As Adam states I don t see how you could cook and raise the boys and take care of me and still do all this
In the great philosophical dialogue we return to the Bible and not surprisingly to the Cain and Abel where Lee discusses how the King James version differs from the American Standard translation of the Genesis chapter of Cain To decipher how the difference came about Lee read the Hebrew version and found a difference in translation in the word timshel And this little discourse in the first third of the book cannot be forgotten as that word and the differences of translation become the focus of the ending So when you go to the end and if for any reason you forgot the great philosophical dialogue between Lee and Adam and Hamilton about the word timshel save yourself time and go to where it is all delivered in a few strokes at the monitor In effect it is whether you believe there is fate without choice or does man have the ability to control destiny by choice
There are also great anti war undertones There were people who gave everything they had to the war because it was the last war and by winning it we would remove war like a thorn on the flesh of the world and there wouldn t be any more such horrible nonsense
It has been three decades since I read Steinbeck And to be certain many of the undertones about timshel or the ignorance of youth would probably have been lost upon my younger reader s eyes Maturity abounds in this novel written in less decorous language but beautifully painted verse of the life and times in romantic agrarian northern California when it was truly the land of fruit and plenty
At this time of my life when I have read most of this author s works and all of the acclaimed works I must claim this to be my favorite This is a masterpiece And probably because of its size and occasional rough topics not the choice for classrooms Unfortunate choices by the classrooms
>> THIS is a classic
John Steinbeck is considered a great writer and for years I heard this was his masterpiece I finally picked it up one day because I loved the movie the version with James Dean I quickly found out that the movie only covered the last fourth of the book Still despite the length 601 pages I decided to read it anyways Man this was a struggle It s a slow moving epic that follows the Trask family from the Civil War to WW1 There are tons of characters and situations but it s not an easy read Steinbeck was a good writer his descriptions of California and Salinas Valley are beautiful However when it came to characterizations and motivations he was terrible All the characters are either evil or good very black and white No shades of grey They don t speak they preach I don t think anyone ever talked like this in real life Every single event or twist is oversimplified and talked to death More than once I got the unpleasant feeling that Steinbeck was talking down to his audience Also whatever his message was I m assuming he had one it s totally lost as the story just rambles on and on and ON As for the ending it s kind of silly and pointless It doesn t even SEEM like an end It seems Steinbeck just got tired of writing this and gave up I got through this hoping there would be some point or POV but there wasn t I m surprised this was published in 1952 Some of the material mostly dealing with sex was pretty explicit I heard this was not a big hit because it was considered too simplistic and anti climatic I agree The movie simplified it even more but the Hayes Code was still in effect so they had no choice but it was more interesting It some excellent actors James Dean Raymond Massey Julie Harris fleshing out their characters and even gave some motivation and feelings to Kate Jo Van Fleet won as Oscar for her acting who is just evil and nothing more in the book It s never a good sign when a movie adaptation has more interesting characters than the book So it s too long too obvious and just rambles on and on for no rhyme or reason Skip this one

LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible A Comprehensive System for Attacking the Logical Reasoning Section of the LSAT
>> definetely Helpful
It s very helpful to someone who study by himself
there are some difficult parts to understand and sometimes hard to apply to the specific questions
But overall it s really nice book It is one of MUST have book
If there are more practice drills that will be better
>> Useful Overview of LSAT Logical Reasoning Section
I ve written a more detailed review of this book on my LSAT blog However I just wanted to briefly note that this book is an incredibly useful overview of the LSAT s Logical Reasoning section
I ve seen students literally go from only 10 or 11 right on the logical reasoning section to 18 or 19 right and above after working with me out of this book It contains dozens of drills and techniques and it breaks down the Logical Reasoning section very systematically The LRB blows Kaplan s books of fake questions and similar ones out of the water I recommend this book to all of my students
>> A must
I am a BIG fan of power score products I utilized this series for GMAT and now for LSAT and each time I saw results I am fortunate to have a small budget to purchase these basic prep books and followed a stringent 3 month self study plan I didn t have 1500 to spend on a professional prep program and I did well on the test It takes focus discipline and great prep books such as POWER SCORE LR is 50 of your score so you need to do well and this books helps you do that It is a tedious book to get through but it is well worth the effort

GRE Practicing to Take the General Test 10th Edition Practicing to Take the Gre General Test
>> Great review many practice tests
I love this book because it provides several practice tests and succinct reviews of information I recommend it to all my friends who are taking the GRE
>> Great reference for GRE
I took the GRE twice within two months November 2009 and again in Dec 2009 Princeton Review was right on my score difference My 2nd test scores wasn t as good This book is an easy read with some humor in it The writers do a good job building your confidence The best advice that I found in the book is the importance of scoring really well in the first 1/3 of the test That is crucial as your score is pretty much determined by then ETS book doesn t acknowledge it but its true Also the Princeton Review provided a perfect template to utilize when writing the analytical section I scored a 4 on that After reading these reviews and other reviews on Amazon I purchased this one 2010 plus Barron s Essential Words for the GRE and Barron s GRE flash cards There is an overlap with the words of the GRE flash cards and vocabulary words in the Princeton Review which is not necessarily a bad thing I found myself reading through the Princeton Review because its an easy read and it gives you very useful strategies in taking the test I used them and scored well on the math My verbal wasn t great but if I had more time to build my vocabulary I would have done a lot better This is a must have book Also the online companion is great because you can practice a GRE The scores I got on that test were close to the ones that I got on the actual GRE For vocabuary I would purchase the Barron s Essential Words which I previously mention That is a thorough book but you need to give yourself several months to work through the book There were words in that book that were on the GRE For math in addition to the Princeton Review I got a lot out of the GRE flash cards The math cards in Barron s GRE flash cards were very helpful
Also I would buy ETS s test booklet as well Like the princeton review after you take the practice test questions in the book they explain the logic behind why which answer is the right one
If you can give yourself a solid 3 months of practicing you will do well Princeton Review discourages from studying too long on the test because you can forget some of the strategies by the time you take the test I had to take time out to write this review there are so many resources out there Also check out you can practice your vocabulary GRE type questions and math questions It s a great site
I hope this helps someone Wish everyone the best

On the Road MAXNotes Literature Guides
>> The Definitive American Road Novel
Since On The Road has been reviewed so many times by others I won t recount the plot such as it is but just my opinions about the book
First Kerouac is a fairly quick read although I found the book a bit monotonous by the end Kerouac wisely ends the book before the narrative becomes too tedious
Second after reading only a few dozen pages you know that On The Road is an important book since its style and substance have been imitated so many times The book that I think it compares most favorably to is Huckleberry Finn
Third I really thought I d be treated to Kerouac s deep immersion into beat culture I was but only to a limited degree What I found fascinating about the book was a feeling of distance that Kerouac seemed to convey as if he was tangent to beat culture but not necessarily a part of it in the way that Neal Cassady Dean Moriarty and Allen Ginsburg Carlo Marx really were I almost got the impression of Kerouac being an interested observer but a somewhat wary participant with some exceptions When you compare Kerouac s opinion of hippie culture with those of Cassady and Ginsburg I think this becomes even more pronounced
I thought the book had a sense of fatalism that Kerouac always knew that these road adventures were only an interlude in his life but for others esepcially Cassady that they were a way of life that probably would lead to a bad end
On The Road is a great read
>> Raw rugged and real A spectacular novel
It is difficult to imagine one not finding some level of escape inspiration and revelation in reading On The Road The number of negative reviews is not entirely surprising Frankly I feel a bit sorry for those who despise this book and attempt to brand it as superficial and/or incoherent Kerouac s rugged and raw writing and story lines are exactly what makes this book so brilliant My guess is that these critics don t get it because they are entrenched in political and behavioral conformity or more likely simply drawn to linear formulaic fiction writing
>> makes you want to travel
I really enjoyed this book I read the anniversary unedited edition from the origional scroll and I would recommend it I liked reading the real names of all the people and it made it quarky having all the grammar and spelling errors every once in a a while Reading this story really gives you a new found pride for America and all the wonderful people and places we have to offer Everyone always thinks you need to travel abroad but this story makes you want to get to know the great scenery and characters right here at home

>> Great Strategies and Review
I have never written a review for a product before but I have only had this book for a day I have read through Chapter 5 and the strategies explained in the first chapter along with the review on key elements to look for has already helped me Sentence Correction was my biggest weakness in the Verbal Section Today I went back and answered the ones I missed on the mba practice test using the new strategies and I got all but one right this time It made it so easy to focus and eliminate choices I strongly recommend this book
>> No prep courses just studying these books got me 780
I can t believe it I did not attend any prep courses and just by merely studying these books I got a 780 And on a separate note I got a 5 on AWA
Do not get me wrong I was never a fantastic undergraduate My GPA was only about 3 4
Thanks to the Manhattan GMAT books which saved me alot of money I repeat I did not spend on prep courses I can now apply for the top MBA programs with confidence
I bought all 8 books but am only writing it here because I do not want to duplicate
>> This is the Best GMAT Sentence Correction Guide Available
I self studied and scored a 770 on the GMAT Here is my analysis of MGMAT s Sentence Correction Guide
OVERVIEW
The Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction SC Guide is one of the most popular resources on the market for mastering GMAT grammar This is because many non native test takers do not have access to prep courses and in their effort to get a high score with self prep they will often be brought down by the cruel English grammar tested on the GMAT
As a company Manhattan GMAT has built a very strong reputation in the test prep industry For most of its history the company focused exclusively on the GMAT and no other standardized test the company began serving the LSAT market in 2008 In this respect it has published a set of 8 GMAT guides which should cover not only the basic GMAT topics but also the advanced issues that the GMAT test taker will face The SC guide is by far their most popular product often described as a must have in online study forums
The book is structured in two parts General 10 chapters and Advanced 3 chapters It also includes a handy Official Guide List and Matrix where you will find a breakdown of topics tested in each of the questions found on The Official Guide for GMAT Review 12th Edition OG and Verbal Review 1st Edition Note that Manhattan GMAT published this 4th edition shortly after the release of the OG 12th in spring before the 2nd edition of the Verbal Review was released later that summer This is important because the current Manhattan GMAT SC edition references the OG 12th edition and OG Verbal 1st edition so you should plan your GMAT shopping list accordingly
PROS
Good analysis of common error types excellent for non native speakers of English interested in taking the test The book covers the Sentence Correction concepts with amazing depth
Comes with a one year access to 6 online computer adaptive practice tests CATs which I consider to be pretty decent estimators of your score second only to the GMATprep software from The CATs are sold at 39 on their official site so you d be getting these tests and the book at a fraction of the cost
Structured according to error types so if you feel you re having trouble with a certain question type you can hone in on your weak spot by reading through the corresponding section
Even if you re an advanced test taker this book is still worth your time Unlike some general strategy guides it does not neglect this advanced test taking demographic This is one of the advantages of having a targeted book at hand
While the book s focus is Sentence Correction the grammar lessons will also help you in the Analytical Writing Assessment section of the GMAT Even though the score for the AWA does not count towards your general GMAT score feeling confident about grammar will help ease the stress of writing your essays on the test
CONS
HUGE MINUS not enough practice questions Each chapter has In Action problem sets and you also get access to 25 questions online but that is not nearly enough GMAT practice You will however find an Official Guide for GMAT Review reference list at the end of each chapter as well as the matrix described above
The book s structure could be improved in my opinion The writing does not flow as easily as in The PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible for example
You need to allocate significant time to review this book The multitude of rules and tips it presents will likely form a dark cloud in your head unless you take the time to properly digest the material
BOTTOM LINE
If GMAT sentence correction is causing you nightmares this book will surely help you get rid of some of those bad dreams Besides the grammar improvement access to the CATs means that you ll have decent tools to assess your progress
Good luck on your GMAT prep

Buy Online Crime and Punishment Classics Illustrated Notes
Author : Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Publisher : Acclaim Books
Publication Date : 1997 03
Crime and Punishment Classics Illustrated Notes
>> A classic to read very slowly in order to understand its underlying messages
Being Dostoyevsky an observer of the inner world that comes out of the perceptions of the mind this novel is about the ravings of a poor helpless University Student drop out who happens to rent a cramped one room studio in San Petersburg Russia He needs money desperately and one day decides to kill and old nasty lady who makes her business pawning objects and to whom he had pawned some jewelry belonging to his mother
The book can be divided in my opinion in three parts 1 All the process that leads to the murder of the lady as seen from the inside of the mind of Raskolnikov this poor innocent that would never kill a fly planning to murder someone these few chapters are colorful full of suspense action and very gripping indeed like in the best hard boiled novel you can find 2 Intermediate chapters that plod along describing the environment where Raskolnikov lives showing the social reality of the Tzarist Russia of that time and 3 How Raskolnikov reveals his crime to the outside gets convicted put on trial and sentenced In every case Dostoyevsky does not focus on the story but in the feelings and emotions that go through the mind and soul of the characters as they interact among themselves like in the best psycho fiction novel and this carries along the action unfolding the story In order to understand and properly follow this author one must reflect himself on every sentence one read so as not to lose the thread So do it slowly Crime and Punishment is a classic worthy to read
>> Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
This is the story of Rodion Romanych a young man disenchanted with life who murders two people in cold blood in an effort to jazz it up a little The crime s consequences however are able to get into his innermost self leading him down a path of psychological torture and helplessness Aided by friends and family but subtly driven mad by the wily detective Porfiry Rodion sets out on a sickly subterranean odyssey of regret and conscience
This is one of the ten best novels of all time Just read it Hats off to Pavear and Volokhonsky for a smooth eminently readable translation one that keeps the integrity of Dostoyevsky s Russian while making the story fresh and as entertaining as anything you re ever likely to read Each scene each page is a masterpiece of setting dialogue and tension making you physically uncomfortable at Rodion s plight yet creating an equally palpable feeling of renewal at his eventual salvation What is right and wrong good and evil rich man and poor man the differences between the blessed and the damned All these questions are asked here in a dense story that is oftentimes nothing less than an indictment of thought and the ego itself Along with the questions it poses to the reader what is also astonishing here is Dostoyevsy s use of structure characters come in and go out when necessary coalescing around Rodion and subtly reinforcing the story s themes and tying up loose ends just right It is so beyond comparison that a meager review could never adequately convey how rewarding an experience this is Again just read it
>> A Tremedous Novel
It s easy to see why this book is Dostoevsky s most famous It is his most focused large novel and its trajectory rests on an ever deepening tension that is quite its own It is an exhausting read like most of Dostoevsky s works but it speaks powerfully on numerous levels I enjoyed the book most as a stinging critique of the kind of intellectual so convinced of his/her superiority that they believe they are not bound by moral laws that apply to the rest of humanity Raskolnikov s plight throughout the novel shows us the futility of prideful intellectualism to trump basic human instinct and its absurdity next to the power of love and humility By the end of the novel we see that Raskolnikov s supercilious pride in the act of committing his crime has cost him not only lawful punishment but has reduced him to utter mental devastation showing him just how like the rest of humankind he truly had been all along

>> Tests are old and bit outdated the questions have changed quite a bit since this book
Good for practice I suppose It helped me before I took the LSAT in Feb but there are plenty of other free resources you can find out there Just use google
The tests in this book are old the LSAT has changed a lot in the last 5 years This book doesn t give you any explanations for the answers so in that way it can be frustrating Just taking the test over and over is good for you to learn how to get your time down but when you are getting the same 4 5 problems wrong every section you want to know why and what you can do better Look elsewhere for your study materials
>> good bargain
If you are doing self prep this is a must you need this amount of material to work through to ace the test I purchased this book along with 10 more actual and super prep I did not buy the green cover the older tests and put my money toward the newer individual test which worked well for my study plan If you have the time and the money I say buy as many lsac tests as possible it helps you get familiar with the wording and subject matters the lsac loves to test on
>> Great Study Guide
This is a very helpful product I feel the sample test as well as the tips in the beginning of the book were very helpful I was able to chart my progress and decide what I needed improvement on I would recommend this study guide in addition to others as well This book is great for generalized testing If you need specific targeted assistance for various types of test questions I would recommend a more specific book that targets those questions

Spark Notes I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
>> A Must Read But If Only To Say That You ve Read It
Just recently I started reading autobiographies by black writers and I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings is one of the more famous and well known books of that genre I was so excited to finally read it as it has been on my list for a number of years And I have to say and I m speaking honestly here I was bored out of my mind I couldn t wait to be finished The book reminded me so much of Maya Angelou and the slow and steady way she speaks as if every single word is a treasure in itself I kinda of felt like I was stuck in molasses and couldn t get out
This book is one of those that every middle school child will be forced to read and I feel so sorry for those poor children This book had me yawning so much I got a little upset with the fact that it is so glorified and loved And the only explanation I can come up with is that maybe because it was originally published in 1969 it must have been such a beacon for black writers at the time to know that they can share their life stories with others and make a difference if only to break down the door for other writers to do the same
Don t get me wrong I really respect Maya Angelou I love her poetry and the endless wisdom that seems to seep from her very pores but I don t love this book But like the title of this review says the book is a must read but if only to say that you ve read it
If you want to read an autobiography that will have you tearing through the pages in anticipation for what will happen next I suggest reading the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass The Autobiography of Malcolm X one of the best ever written or Bone Black Memories of a Girlhood by bell hooks just to name a few
>> Inspiring Book
I have just recently read this book and I was amazed to know about the graphic negative things that Maya Angelou went through in her childhood but also inspired to learn how she embraced various poets and their literature to helped her emerege triumphant in the end Her writing is so poetic yet so very real Although I would like to know her explaination as to why she chose the title
I Know Why the Caged Birds Sing Overall this was a great read
>> Memorable Book when growing up
This book was published in 1969 I would have been 12 so I am guessing I read it sometime in the 70 s my teen years and I remember being very moved I have not read it again but am planning to do so I am very surprised and shocked at the controversy I had no idea someone wouldnt like it or have the impressions that have been written in these reviews I do know that rereading books from my childhood is a totally different experience one I cannot recreate I am different and the world is a different place I am wondering if some of the criticism has to do with your age when you read this and also if now is the first time for reading this book the world we live in is totally different Our views how we live etc so some of these may influence your perception All I know is I remember this as one of my all time favorite books that moved me Others are I Never Promised You a Rose Garden A Tree Grows in Brooklyn The Velvet Room From the Mixed up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler A Wrinkle in Time series Island of the Blue Dolphins Little Women Anne of Green Gables whole series an all time favorite reread Flowers for Algernon Jonathan Livingston Seagull yah this ages me The Little Prince these are just some from my childhood and teen years I read a lot I know I have forgotten some important book that were pivotal for me but I have not thought about these books in a long time Most of these were written in the 60 s and 70 s I am amazed at how many top books of the time I did read wondering how I chose them Oh I almost forgot 1984 Fahrenheit 451 The Secret Garden All these had great impact probably because of being young and impressionable My friend lent me her copy of The Secret Garden that had been her Grandmothers Oh what I would do for that copy now I love old books even then it added to the ambience and mystery to reading it Also loved The Little Princess by same author
Anyway I know that the book Why the Caged Bird Sings touched me in ways I had never experienced I am glad I read it and plan on rereading soon I recommend this book as a must read

My daughter and I have found this and the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2010 26E the two most useful books to help her narrow down her choices We started off on the website also useful and free to find colleges that offered her major We used some of the statistics on that site to further narrow it down More than half of the colleges left were in this or Fiske there is a lot of overlap not many in one book but not the other at least for the colleges on her list This book gave much more real life information than the dry statistics on the college board website My daughter chose to eliminate colleges where life revolved around football and/or the Greek system which could be a plus for other students the book doesn t make any moral judgments It includes the academic atmosphere easy hard lots of red tape large or small classes cold and distant profs vs enthusiastic profs who interact with students It also gives a bit of feel for the types of students you are likely to find political leanings preppies jocks nerds hippies etc Whatever a student s preferences in these areas they will be able to get a better feel for which colleges may be worth a visit and which ones they almost certainly won t like I would add though that only students looking at more selective schools are likely to find many of interest here Judging from the schools we browsed it seems to start selectivity wise around the big state universities and go up to the top Ivy League schools

Flawless Consulting A Guide to Getting Your Expertise Used
>> A very practical guide
I purchased a used copy of this book for a very modest amount a few weeks ago and it really is excellent
An easy read and absolutely packed with common sense
Highly recommended
>> Excellent resource
Excellent book excellent resource It was recommended to me by a friend who has been consulting for some time and it is written in a practical cogent and to the point style that presents topics in a manner allowing immediate assimilation of content
If it had substantive advice on business development it would be the only book one would ever need
>> Was not the edition I needed
I had searched by ISPN number and this book came up so I ordered it Upon reciept of the book I realized it was a very old edition and useless to me

Barron s SAT Critical Reading Workbook Critical Reading Workbook for the Sat
>> A Great Workbook for Highly Motivated Students
Pros Hundreds of practice questions Multiple ability levels Answer key with explanations Great vocabulary words
Cons Brief descriptions of problem solving strategies C level questions more challenging than official SAT questions Flashcards for vocabulary Short answer explanations
I recommended using The Barron s Critical Reading Workbook for the SAT with other SAT prep materials The workbook as a stand alone critical reading SAT prep is not enough for the majority of high school juniors and seniors preparing for their first SAT exam Barron s provides an ample number of practice questions for students of all ability levels however Barron s Critical Reading Workbook does not provide sufficient vocabulary exercises or overall SAT test taking strategies
Sophomores who are looking to gain an edge by beginning their SAT test prep early and are simply looking for a way to become familiar with the types and styles of questions they will face on the SAT may find this workbook sufficient preparation for the verbal section
While the vocabulary in this workbook is excellent the presentation of the vocabulary is less than stellar Many students do not enjoy the burden of flashcards and some students may discover that they have learning styles that are incompatible with rote memorization A separate vocabulary book such as Vocabulary Cartoons SAT Word Power or The Critical Thinking Company s Word Roots Level A Book 2 Learning the Building Blocks of Better Spelling and Vocabulary series is recommended to use with this Barron s Critical Reading Workbook to provide alternative and enriching vocabulary activities
If used in conjunction with better vocabulary exercises Barron s Critical Reading Workbook is appropriate for independent individual use by high achieving highly motivated high school seniors preparing to take the SAT reasoning test With a high level of motivation students will be able to easily follow the guidelines provided at the beginning of the workbook and proceed through the book independently without this motivation students may need the help of a parent teacher tutor or coach to guide them through the book and assign specific sections and pages to complete
Students of all levels may find it helpful to have a tutor teacher or mentor guide them through the Barron s workbook to provide problem solving strategies test taking skills enrichment activities and encouragement that the book by itself does not
>> Awesome Workbook USE FOR SCORE INCREASE
So a friend of mine recommended this workbook to me He said that it helped him increase by 70 pts from a 670 to a 740 I bought it did most of the sentence completions studied the vocab and did the passages I went from a 670 on the critical reading March sat 09 to a 750 Dec sat 09 I have to say that I am thoroughly impresseed with this book It arranges the sentence completions in three sets according to difficulty and the passage based reading questions are harder than the real sat which definitely prepared me Highly recommended
>> Very Disapointing
I used Baron s for the SAT Math Subject Test and it was great However for the reading Baron s was terrible My main issue with this book is that the questions in the practice tests ARE NOT similar to the questions you will actually see on the test Most books especially Collegeboard s have acurate questions However this book had styles of reading comprehension questions that I had not seen in a dozen practice tests Baron s had a lot of pretty general questions that would ask about details from a group of paragraphs I had never seen this sort of question Baron s asks a lot of these Other practice tests that I have seen had a lot of questions asking about main ideas tone of the passage comparing passages and specific detail questions citing specific lines Baron s had a few of these questions types but definitely not as many as on other tests My point is that Baron s may make you a better critical reader through these exercises BUT it will not prepare you well for the types of questions you will see on the SAT reading test There were also a lot of typos in the book Lastly the sentence completion questions were alright and the vocabulary lists were good However this does not make up for the inadequate reading passage questions

Spark Notes For Whom The Bell Tolls
>> Two Thumbs Up
This book gathers momentum slowly but I guarantee that if you stick with it to the end you will be very well rewarded I enjoyed this book for insight into history as well as military tactics It s almost like you are behind enemy lines eavesdropping on what is happening But the last 40 to 50 pages swiftly gathers momentum both in action and emotional impact But intertwined is this heart wrenching love story at least at the end it s heart wrenching I ve read four of Hemingway s books but this one ranks easily at the top There is so much emotion and character in this book the stuff that makes us human and heroic and that makes Hemingway so great The last 40 pages or so builds so much emotion suspense and excitement you cannot put it down the mission climaxes the love story climaxes what a ride
>> Great Novel Read Forty Years Apart 30 68
Written in typical Hemingwayesque ploddingly simple style this book morphs English and Spanish in a unique manner for its period 1940 which subsequent writers have copied or embellished Spain is Hemingway s love During this time most loved Paris like friend Fitzgerald But dry heat and bull running mania were for for this man
Spanish sayings abound in this novel about simple people asked to do a job perhaps simple in the name of the cause blow up a bridge But the pithy and poignant statements of implyingly illiterate gypsy Pilar cannot be matched by 17th century philosophers For example Spain in her words is where blasphemy keeps pace with the austerity of religion
When protagonist Robert Jordan speaks English for a short time to some of the group Pilar tells him to revert to Spanish as no language is truer She later concludes that Spanish is shorter and simpler
And Hemingway s influence on this language shows as some verbs are paradoxically used each time the root of Spanish for English usage One example is to constantly implement Spanish molestar in English sentences to ask that people stop molesting one another when the translation is not to bother one another
But these linguistic nuances are the special effect the unique style the cutting edge to the Nobel winning writing style of Hemingway It is the sentences of Spanglish or otherwise compounded with his ever seemless simplification that make this novel resound
I enjoyed this novel also for its slow beginning and its heightening to a crescendo for its ending His language and other writing angles seem to mature as the novel progresses He slowly captures the reader and has you under his exclusive control the last third of the book
Although Hemingway makes this a love story at a time of war parts are seemingly unreal Knowing that he is going to die the next day Robert Jordan meets one last time with beautiful Maria And as they are about to start doing the deed he stops and asks if she hurts I am sure that you can interview many a disagreeing soldier under similar circumstances and ask if the concept of pain to the sexual partner ever entered their mind when they were having what would perhaps be their last moment of heaven on this man s earth they would all agree that this was not exactly what they had in mind
But this is a classic and worthy of reading I waited over 40 years between readings and received very different messages Each time good
>> The most epic novel of all time
Read it if you haven t read it The ending is truly enduring the entire book is a lesson in what it means to be a man

The Naked Roommate And 107 Other Issues You Might Run Into in College
>> Waste of Money
Most of the stuff in this book is common sense and quite trite It reads kinda like your mom is lecturing you before you leave Don t waste your money on it unless you have too because its full of worthless advices
>> Informative
This book has helped me prepare for my upcoming freshman year at college Some of the topics I have been more versed in but finally had some questions that I always wondered about college classroom etiquette for example As a new student I would and have recommend this book to other students parents and staff who want an honest and current look at what college is like today Plus the author is friendly and not preachy at all which makes it easy to read
>> Great book
I bought this for one of my students who was going off to college It s a great reference for all you might want to know about what to expect your freshman year She loved it

AP United States History Flash Cards Barron s Ap
>> Valuable resource
I purchased these cards for my daughter when she was taking AP US History 2 years ago and now my son is taking the same course Both of my kids use these as one of their primary study guides My daughter got a 5 on her AP exam and B / A during her AP US History class her Jr year of high school My son just got a B on his AP US History mid term for his class as well as his buddy who borrowed the cards to study with Needless to say these cards are quite helpful My only complaint is that they aren t numbered so keeping them in order can be a bit tricky if you aren t meticulous with them Put the card after it sideways always and it will be fine
>> An Asset to Review for APUSH Coursework and Testing
My daughter s Advanced Placement U S History APUSH teacher recommended these cards as a study aid In the first three weeks they already showed their value My daughter had a unit test and was the only student in the class to have purchased these cards The teacher in preparing the students for studying asked if anyone had purchased the cards To those students she recommended the relevant numbered cards for study There were questions on the test that my daughter knew as a direct result of having reviewed with these cards We are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend these review cards to anyone taking Advanced Placement U S History APUSH
Also this item was 8 cheaper at Amazon com vs the local chain bookstore
>> Great teaching tool
Great way to get a lot of information quickly There is the ability to categorize the set with handy symbols on the front of each card This makes it really nice for teaching and learning themes not simply memorizing the information which is helpful for the essay and DBQ portion of the A P exam The cards can also be used in the classroom for review I have handed out stacks of cards and had students make flow charts for the information so they understand the cause and effect for a series of events I would suggest this be one of a few review tools and not used alone because it will be harder for students to understand connections of events in this format

>> Pretty good
Overall this book was a great review for the TEAS exam However I was disappointed with the science section It was not representative of the material on the actual exam It is a general book for several entrance exams and that is important to keep in mind while studying I studied this book for a week and did very well on the exam Good luck
>> Great GreatGreat
I used this book to review for the TEAS NET and the HESI A2 This book is perfect Great science review especailly A P There are sooo many practice questions Great math section There were shortcuts and tricks that were extremely helpful I scored a 94 and above for each test
>> Excellent Preparation for Nursing Students
I work at Oral Roberts University ORU which ranks in the top ten in the nation s nursing schools My granddaughter wants to become a nurse and when I asked one of the teachers what preparation she needed she told me that they had ordered this book for their students to study prior to their entrance exams Good enough for me so my granddaughter was thrilled when she opened her birthday present from me

Barron s SAT Subject Test Math Level 2 8th Edition
>> Not at all like the real test
I purchased this book a month before I took my SAT II to help me brush up on some Algebra II topics I had forgotten The explanations for the algebra II topics I needed the most help on were short and confusing with not enough examples given The practice tests included were unhelpful and inaccurate and focused on the hardest topics that are rarely covered on the actual SAT II I am a very good math student and the practice tests projected me for a high 600 score I ended up getting a full 800 on the test with no thanks to this book I read and reread the sections I needed help on trying to understand what it was talking about Completely frustrated I ended up going to my math teacher at school for help What you can use this book for is to get an idea of what topics you are unfamiliar with but don t expect it to actually help you understand them
>> Helped refresh my memory but terrible with teaching
This book was only good for concepts I already remembered how to do There was some new stuff that I wasn t really sure about and the explanations are terrible I could not learn from it However it did serve well to show me a very hard version of what could be on the test and it scared me into thinking the test would be harder than it was the test seemed easy compared to the book
>> Awesome Review Book
This is a great book for any high school student who wants to score high on the SAT II Math Level 2 I prepared only from this book for about three weeks and received a 760 on the real SAT Math Level 2 It is evident that this book contains much harder questions than the real thing but that is just what makes this book so great The fact of the matter is that when I took the test I breezed through the harder questions because this Barrons book taught me that the hard questions are easy This is overall the BEST book to use when preparing for the SAT II Level 2 subject test

Diary of a Young Girl
>> Anne Frank
This book is about a young girl hiding with her family in a secret annex during the holocaust It is very fascinating because these are her actual thoughts I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read because it fits all of the categories This book has a very high rating on my list and I think it would entertain you too It would pry be for someone older who likes reading because it is advanced

Received item in a very timely manner would certainly recommend this seller to others keep up the good work God s blessings and prosperity to you
>> The more real Anne
While any edition of Anne Frank s diary is worth reading I prefer the definitive edition Most of you know that it includes previously removed material about her strained complicated relationship with her mom her more saucy comments that convey her frustration with many of the adults in the secret annex and her developing sexuality All these things make her more well rounded than in the regular version Her progression from a silly school girl to a more mature introspective young woman is even more striking and heartbreaking Heartbreaking because her life was cut short not too long after her last entry the most deep one she d written Of course it includes the constantly misconstrued In spite of everything I still believe people are really good at heart line but that s just the tip of the iceberg Sometimes sassy bratty and sharp tongued but always caring kind and reflective it s a crime that her talents were never given a chance to shine in adulthood Anne dreamed of being a writer and a journalist but never knew her wish to go on living even after her death would come true in a literal sense We must never forget this girl and the many other innocent victims who perished in the Holocaust Never

Fiske Guide to Colleges 2010 26E
>> Not really a complete guide to colleges
while the book obviously covers all major colleges and universities do not expect details on lesser known even when quite large ones Separate entry on Eastern Carolina U for example even with 10K students sorry about one sentence on it as if it was exactly the same as NC State
>> Significant factual error
I was enjoying the excerpts until I noted that the guide lists Cooper Union among the most costly colleges In fact although the stated annual tuition is 35 000 all 1 100 / students get a full scholarship Of course the cost of living in NY is not inconsiderable but it is still quite a deal for a superb education and the reason it is one of the most selective institutions in the country
>> great preview of colleges
Fiske gives an overview of hundreds of colleges using the same format for each school The scores quality of life seriousness of each school ratings are very helpful The only confusing part is comparing what a particular school s primary majors are with the listing of what schools have great programs in each major somewhat contradictory

>> Oxford 150th Anniversy Edition Edited by David S Reynolds
Well it s in the form of the original in it s size typeface etc and has a few reviews and letters in the back but I must admit I m disappointed I was expecting this book to either be leather bound it looks it in the Amazon picture or designed like the original cloth with engravings and what all But instead you get a cheap glossy jacket with a blurry poorly printed image of the original cover You need to squint to even notice the engravings And the back flap has a big annoying picture of David Reynold s face which is very not in the spirit of Walt Whitman s book Other than that I guess it s probably the closest we ll get to holding the original in our hands
>> Absolutely Indispensable
Walt Whitman is one of the most famous widely read and influential poets one of the few who can truly be said to have revolutionized poetry Free verse s true originator he broke free of formal shackles way back in 1855 nearly three quarters of a century before it became standard He proved that great poetry could be written without traditional trappings and it has never been the same Many including me think it has gone too far in the other direction but this is not Whitman s fault his work is undeniably great and we have in many was long since suffered weak imitations There is simply no equaling him much less replacing him his work is as essential a part of American literature as Mark Twain s He is indeed the Twain of verse to be anachronistic as monumental all important and epoch forming as Twain was in prose Technicalities aside this had almost as much to do with subject matter Whitman famously self proclaimed America has a bard at last and so it did He freed American poetry from European heritage making truly national art that both defined its era and instantly became timeless speaking to the heart of all that America and Americans stood and stand for The great poet of democracy he preached the gospel of westward expansion celebrated America s natural beauty extolled its unique history and exciting new status championed its values chronicled the Civil War dramatized the struggle over slavery and other national debates and generally held forth about the country s unmatched cosmopolitanism in all areas from ethnicity to landscapes He also somehow managed to write about sexuality with unprecedented openness and vigor striking a blow against Victorian prudery that would eventually prove fatal and even laying the foundations for non heterosexual identity Accomplishing even one of these deeds would have been truly remarkable Whitman did them all
Yet he published only one poetry book 1855 s Leaves of Grass which went through several updates through his 1892 death He not only continuously added poems but extensively revised older ones sometimes dropping some and moving others For example the original and final versions of his masterpiece Song of Myself are substantially different Many key poems were there from the start but some of the most famous and best including the Civil War and associated Abraham Lincoln ones came later None of the many poems added late in life were nearly on par with prior masterpieces but nearly all were worthwhile Whitman wanted the 1892 edition to supersede the rest and editors have nearly always complied it is by far the most popular and widely available and the one that nearly all readers will want
And what a version it is hundreds of poems plus several prose prefaces and a prose afterword over nearly five hundred pages To have so much greatness in one book especially from one person is near unbelievable the depth of Whitman s achievement simply staggers Nearly all the poems are worthy and many are great quite a few are pure masterpieces Included are some of the all time great poems like Song of Myself I Sing the Body Electric Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d By Blue Ontario s Shore and Passage to India plus many superb short poems Anyone even remotely interested in poetry must be familiar with these there have always been some for whom Whitman just does not click but even they must be prepared to deal with him so great is his influence
Great as the 1892 Edition is it is possible for both hard cores and casuals to complain Many of the latter will say that it is simply too imposing too many poems too many pages I certainly would not advise anyone who has read very little or no Whitman to jump right in it is definitely a lot to take in at once and the poems are by no means of equal quality or importance One would be far better off reading a selected edition first but everyone should come here eventually indeed nearly all will want to after the first tantalizing taste Conversely diehards have always complained about various aspects from poems it leaves out to various changes made to included ones The most important omission in my view is Whitman s original prose introduction which served as his poetic manifesto The dedicated will of course want to seek out this and every version of every poem but their complaints are of interest to very few The 1892 Edition will satisfy nearly everyone
This is not the most deluxe version one can find various critical editions with extensive commentary notes etc as well as variorum versions However this is one of the most widely available and is very affordable Taking this into account it has fairly generous supplemental material a good basic Introduction a short glossary and bibliography and an index of titles and first lines with original and final publication dates This is the ideal Leaves of Grass for most but everyone should have it in some form It is one of very few books truly essential for all Even those who do not like poetry may well like Whitman and anyone even remotely interested in American literature history or culture must be acquainted Leaves so thoroughly has it penetrated popular culture and entered the American consciousness Bookshelves missing this might almost as well be empty
>> Pioneers Oh Pioneers
If you ve been watching television over the past few months then you ve likely seen the Levi s commercial that features quotes from Walt Whitman s poetry Pioneers oh pioneers Leaves of Grass is one of the greatest books of poetry ever written by an American I ve rated this only three stars because the edition I m writing about is a Kindle Edition which doesn t include access to an efficient table of contents If you want to navigate through the poems you will have to create bookmarks yourself Otherwise the content is nothing short of fantastic Whitman was a unique voice in American letters and Leaves of Grass is his masterwork

Cracking the SAT Chemistry Subject Test 2009 2010 Edition College Test Preparation
>> Fabulous resource to prepare for SAT Chemistry Subject Test
My son didn t sign up quickly enough to take the Chemistry subject test in June when the material would have been fresh so we were looking for a good review book to prepare him for the test in the Fall I can t say enough about this book It provides great review material and three complete tests with answers and explanations
My son took the first test without doing any review he scored a 530 He then read the explanations for the answers he missed and started skimming the review sections for any gaps in knowledge A couple of days later he took the second test and scored a 630 woohoo definite progress Again he read the explanations for the answers he missed and did more review He took the third test a few days before the actual exam and scored a 680 on that one Again a little more review and he was set for the actual test Because the subject tests deduct points for incorrect answers one of the most valuable things my son learned from this process was to not answer questions he didn t know especially those he couldn t narrow the answer down with certainty to a 50 50 choice
Test day came and he was completely relaxed and confident I won t give his exact score but he did score in the 700s and I know there is no way he would have done nearly as well without using this awesome resource
Total time for him to do all of the above about 10 hours spread over less than two weeks
>> A Seasoned Teacher says Best Chem SAT2 Prep
I am a science teacher and think this is the best SAT2 prep book for the Chemistry test
Each chapter is followed by questions of the three types you will find on the test and there are 3 excellent practice tests in the back
There are explanations for all the questions in the back
One issue The Henderson Hasselbach equation never shows up on the Chem SAT2 of course now that I ve said that it probably will so skip that part in the Acid/Base Chapter
Supplement with Thomas Evangelist s McGraw/Hill SAT2 prep book NOT for the review but for the 5 tests he has written for the book Some of the questions that come up in those tests are irrelevant like the Nernst equation but the tests are excellent for practice

Law School Confidential A Complete Guide to the Law School Experience
>> Compelling
I ve only read the first few chapters because they re the only ones that apply to me so far So far the advice is sound there seems to be a lot of input from various people who have graduated from some of the top schools in the country The writing is compelling and speaks directly to the reader in an informal manner Probably a good guide to help someone wrap their head around the entire experience
>> Satisfied
Great book good condition The status of my order was never updated so even though my book arrived in a decent amount of time I thought the order was still being processed
>> worth reading summer before 1L
I am a 1L now I m glad I read this book because it helped me to form realistic expectations of what law school will be like Two notes
1 Brief cases the traditional way your first month maybe first semester before you try the technicolor approach It takes at least a month to learn how to breif and if you start with technicolor you will probabaly just highlight everything the first month
2 Wait until two weeks in to buy commercial outlines to get a feel for the course Look closely at the outlines before purchasing to make sure they will be helpful Some outline go better with some casebooks

Five Minds for the Future Your Coach in a Box
>> A Must Read
This is an excellent summary of Gardners life as a thinker and educator While his prose is always graduate level reading the
timeless reference to focusing and staying focused is a needed skill not only for current educators teachers instructors but for everyone wanting to reach a goal As always Garners works stays on the shelf as reference and is referenced frequently
>> The rectangle does not fit the round hole
This modularization of what man needs too succeed in the future just does not make sense to me It feels more like a corporate agenda Probably meant to touch a chord for CEO s and like types so that the author can be hired to lecture to their minions on how they should think
I ve read something like 150 pages of the book and I feel that I m wasting my time
One flaw is that the five mind concepts are quite interdependant and overlapping That just tells me that is most probably not the right approach Try to make sense of it and it will only pose more questions exponentially
Proposals for guidelines I would make would be for example there is not a formula for everything uncertainty is what makes life fun both people and disciplines should approach each other more socially for the bigger picture orchestration of human reality Just as our concious mind comes about because of a wholistic effect of our cells that we ll never understand the earth and our descendants need us to work for a better world Seeing the state of the world today I would not trust a CEO to get the job done
>> Great content tiny fonts
My only problem with the paperback edition of this book is the tiny font size It appears that the hard cover text files were just shrunken down to fit the smaller paperback size Thus while the hardcover edition may have had normal size text in the paperback edition the text has shrunken to a 9 point font or even an 8 point font Talk about eye strain
I ve seen this before with UK editions of US books but this is the worst example I ve seen of a hardcover to paperback transfer in a US edition

The PMP Exam How to Pass on Your First Try
>> Great book to get ready for the exam
Prior to reading this book I already had PM experience so I took me only about a month to go through it and get ready for the exam Andy Crowe s book provides all the information you need for the exam and gives a lot of useful advices
Sample questions are quite real and about the same type that you get on the exam Some reviewers said that they are less wordy in the book PMP exam does have a lot of short and exact questions Just focus your studies on ITTOs formulas and processes and you will do just fine
>> Great Resource for Passing
Yeah I passed
Thanks to the PMP Exam guide by Andy Crowe and the online tutorials and exam questions I passed the CAPM I failed the first exam after studying the RMC guide and even taking a 6 week course sanctioned by PMI I decided to use the PMP exam materials for the CAPM prep at the recommendation of another review Take that approach You can t go wrong
What I appreciate most about the guide is the logical manner in which it presented the material the number of practice questions and the one week access to Velociteach Going through the online courses brought up a few items the book didn t touch on and also emphasized areas that I had glossed over without realizing the signficance
For those of you who think the exam is a piece of cake congratuations For those of us that run projects in our small offices without a PMO or other PMs as mentors and do not have the need to utlilze all 42 processes and 517 inputs/outputs the CAPM is not an easy exam even using the PMP study materials
>> This one delivers
This is an excellent resource for preparing for the PMP Exam This is the only book I used to prepare and aced it on my first try It presents a thorough yet readable explanation of key concepts without digging into the minutia The test taking tips at the end of the book were right on Do you want to pass the PMP Simply read memorize formulas and keep taking the Chapter tests and Exam at the end until you get 90

Where to buy Spark Notes And Then There Were None

Spark Notes And Then There Were None
>> best book on my kindle
this is by far the best book on my amazon kindle once you get to know the characters you are drawn into a masterpiece of words agatha christie says things that get right to the point there is no extra fluff all the words serve a purpose making reading it a treat that will make you pull away from whatever you are doing to read it the suspense is masterfully established you will never see the end coming i ddi a double take when i learned the killers identtiy this story is worth a hundred dollars
>> And then I m wanting more
Taken at face value And Then There Were None may as well have been the basis of the 1985 movie Clue Of course as funny that movie was this novel was anything but
But the premise is very similar Strangers made to come together in a remote place by an invitation from an anonymous sender However this is where the two works of fiction diverge The movie Clue revolves around a plot with characters who have received the same letter/invitation as in verbatim In And Then There Were None however each letter is eerily suited to a particular person Some were enticed by the prospect of a good time or the promise of meeting old acquaintances as what they have been wanting to do or have others were lured by financial opportunities as was their pressing need whilst others still had vague motivations for coming
The author is unrelenting in building the suspense from the first bits in the train/carriage ride bearing the arriving guests up to the climax Snatches of thoughts from each character make it helpful for the reader to a certain extent to pin down which is which There s the judge who can lie still as a stone but whose pale eyes are razor sharp always taking everything in The self righteous and religious fanatic middle aged woman whose demeanor is rarely ruffled The younger female who looks sensible but whose thoughts are haunted and chaotic The general whose disdain for the brash younger generation is hard to miss The doctor whose seeming contentment with his career is nevertheless shadowed by a past controversy And then others more whose presence in Indian Island certainly make the group a strange mix of persons
The first solid chilling clue is the presence of the Ten Little Indian Boys rhyme set in each of the guest s bedroom I had to write it all down as a guide No really It s a requirement
The guests themselves have barely been reluctant acquaintances upon arrival when a strange disembodied voice blasts over the whole drawing room where they have all retired after dinner And then the chills creep in all over again
Each of those present is accused of murder
Well then of course one just has to read on Because that s the beauty of Agatha Christie novels It s all up front murder but the mastery lies in her exposition Who and how was it all done
I again thought that it might be the same as Clue in which the presence of deadly weapons is a silent command that all characters finish each other off
But no In this novel the characters have no reason to kill each other And yet all of them because of those accusations deserve to die
And if this is not your first Agatha Christie then I guess my saying that it s useless to make any guesses is understandable
Just sit back and let the narrative do the work for you
And if you still find yourself guessing every so often I can t blame you And that s why I m loving this author
>> The Classic Whodunit
What a great book to read especially if you are looking for something quick and absorbing In And Then There Were None Agatha Christie delivers the classic whodunit
From the interrogation of the suspects and examination of the crime scenes Christie provides us the clues to start to make our own deductions on who is the murder Eventually like most people I am sure we need to reassemble our thoughts as our main suspect is killed off I found myself more than once going back to review the evidence and constantly rereading the nursery rhyme that makes available the plot
As stated above it s a great book I read that over 100 million copies of And Then There Were None have been sold making it the seventh highest selling book ever Also only the Bible is said to have more books sold than Agatha Christie s collection In terms of authors her name is readily accepted with Shakespeare s as among the best selling authors of all time Impressive
Enjoy the book
Ps Look up pictures of Burgh Island if you want to see Christie s inspiration for Indian Island
